Itinerary for Hanoi city tour:
9:30 am: Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and begin the fresh morning with the interesting activities below.
Go around Hoan Kiem lake on a scooter or a private car then head to French old quarter to visit Hanoi Opera House. One of French colonial buildings in Hanoi. Stop a few minutes to take photos and hear its history.
Then keep going along the ceramic road that sets New World Record as the world’s longest ceramic mural and get on Long Bien bridge like a historical witness of Vietnam war. From the bridge, we can look down to see beautiful plantations, farms and get to see the standard of living from locals living there is low-another side of Hanoi.
Keep going until we reach the oldest religious pagoda in Hanoi-Tran Quoc pagoda located beside the biggest lake in Hanoi – West Lake, on Thanh Nien Road, is considered a cultural symbol of Vietnamese Buddhism. Here, you can receive an insight in the religion life and culture of Vietnamese people. Nearby there, we stop at Truc Bach lake where Pete Peterson (the first US ambassador to a unified Vietnam in 1995), and Senator John McCain (the Republican nominee for the US presidency in 2008) was shot down from airplane and stayed 5 and a half years in the prison.
We continue our tour at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature), the first Imperial University in Vietnam which was built in the 10th century under the Ly Dynasty and greatly influenced by Confucianism.
Now it’s time to enjoy lunch as a rest. We come to the restaurant well-known for Hanoi specialties like Banh Cuon (Fresh rice roll) and Prawns with vermicelli and some beer.
Because of the close time of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum at 10:30 therefore this place is the second point where it is the last resting place of Ho Chi Minh, the nation’s hero and located in the center of Ba Ðình Square. Here we We will move to Ho Chi Minh complex to visit the stilt house where Uncle Ho spend most time living here. Lying to a side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda. The pagoda has a very unique architecture. It is a cultural and historic relics, unique for its architectural work in the country. Praying at The One Pillar Pagoda is said to bring about blessings of fertility and health.
And then, we can either move the small alley in the Old Quarter – To Tich so as to taste a cup of fresh fruit salad to relax after a long trip or enjoy the special coffee in Hanoi which is called Egg-coffee
